Q1: Hi Olivia, It is nice to meet you! First question is where are you located? A1: Hi! It’s nice to meet ya’ll! I am located in Nashville, TN.
2: What inspired you to start Liv Lyn and when? A1: I went to school initially to study SLP, only to uncover after my 2nd year that I was only pursuing that path because it was what I felt was expected of me. Becoming an SLP wasn’t what I truly wanted to do in life. I worked various jobs between then & launching Liv Lyn, from sales, and designing closets, to working in the insurance industry. I decided in 2021 that I spend enough money purchasing clothes from other people (not to mention promoting their products to friends/ family/ strangers 24/7) that I may as well purchase clothes from myself! Saying this, I’ve always had a very entrepreneurial mindset & loved the idea of creating something of my own to share with the world. After years of encouragement from family & friends suggesting the same thing, I finally decided to pull the trigger & open up Liv Lyn, an online Women’s Fine Clothing Boutique. On top of that, however, more often than not, I found my style & quality standard needed to be fully represented in the marketplace within my budget. My style is timeless, European, & slightly trendy. When styling outfits, I’d find myself wishing I had a specific item to pair with the rest of said outfit that I couldn’t find anywhere online. I developed this burning passion for creating these styles myself, with the highest standards, at a digestible price point.
Q3: Have you always been interested in fashion? A3: For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved to shop & style outfits. As a child, teenager, & young adult, I’d put outfits together for friends & family any chance I had. Styling outfits has always been a creative outlet for me. It may sound crazy, but naturally, throughout every day/night am thinking of the next outfit I can style & for what occasion. It is so much fun for me.
Q4: What is it like to own your own business? Any highlights? A4: It is amazing, and I pinch myself everyday that I get to own my own business. Saying that, it isn’t easy, or for the faint of heart. Many nights are 2am nights… working on evolving the brand and ensuring alignment with latest trends while remaining classic and timeless that I think is lost in many brands nowadays. The highlight of owning my own brand is when a customer is utterly shocked at the incredible quality, paired with the price point… and they tell me they thought they could never afford something so beautiful. That is why I do what I do and I am so passionate about curating a brand that is affordable, timeless, and enables women to feel and look their absolute best. And I just feel so lucky to get to play a role in providing this feeling for women.
Q5: Any advice to give to fellow women looking to become a business owner?A5: Go for it. You won’t have all the answers, but if you have grit, passion & determination, you will find the answers, you will figure it all out as you go and it will be SO worth it… and SO rewarding. Just keep pressing on and don’t ever stop believing in yourself. No-one says this, but no-one knows exactly what they’re doing when they start a business… so you aren’t alone! but we figure it out, stay resilient and it’s the most rewarding thing!
Q6: What are your favorite pieces from your boutique? A6: The Grace Blouse, Paige Dress, Max mom jeans, Jyme Jeans, & Winona Jeans. Beautiful staples!
Q7: What is next for you and Liv Lyn?
A7: Next for Liv Lyn… While I have yet to reach the point in my business where I am designing every aspect of the clothes, that is a huge goal of mine soon. I also plan to launch “Little Liv,” a kid’s line, “Lux Liv,” a formal line, & a men’s line in the coming years… Oh & a storefront… that is very much in the works on the outskirts of Nashville… 👀
